ASTRA (अस्त्रा)

Association of Toxicologists and Risk Assessors (India), or ASTRA (अस्त्रा) in short, is a registered body headquartered at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology, Research, Lucknow. The objective of ASTRA, a professional, educational, and non-commercial entity, is to advance all aspects of science and technology relating to the field of toxicology and health risk assessment. ASTRA seeks to promote Science for Safety, Health, and Environment by providing opportunities for the dissemination and exchange of knowledge as well as experience not only among professionals of toxicology and risk assessment but also among the public and society at large. 

In the pursuance of its objectives, ASTRA shall organize lectures, meetings, seminars, and conferences directed both toward professionals and the public. ASTRA also aims to bring out a journal or journals and vehicles for the publication of scientific and technical articles concerned with research and development, and of such other matters as may advance toxicology and risk assessment, such as news regarding ASTRA activities and members, reports of meetings elsewhere, commercial and market information, news of promotional and development activity.
